How to Prune an Indoor Vine?

Hanging baskets overflowing with vining plants like pothos (Scindapsus and Epipremnum sp.) and ivies (Hedera sp.)

Prized for their lush foliage and rapid growth, these houseplants require little care other than regular watering

but there are time when pruning is necessary to improve the appearance or health of the plant.

Pinch out the growing tips of vines with your thumb and finger.

Cut the stems of overgrown vines back to the desired length with a sharp knife. Clip the vine just above a leaf node.

Prune the entire plant with scissors or a sharp knife by cutting back to two to four inches in height to rejuvenate the plant.

This forces new growth from the base of the plant.
